Before proceeding with the following steps, please contact our State Referee Administrator Douglas Sharpe (sdi-doug@wvsoccer.net) if you are interested in becoming a referee in West Virginia.
Click here to create your U.S. Soccer Learning Center profile.
All Learning Center profiles will require a unique primary email address.
Sign up using the referee’s name and birthdate.
Secondary email addresses (i.e. Parent's) may be required on the profile.
Note: Referees must be at least 13 years old to register.
Note: Completion of the online assignments does not issue a referee license. The In-Person Field Training Session (see step 3) is a requirement for all First Time Referees.
Go to the Upcoming First Time Referee Courses List.
Select West Virginia State Referee Committee under Host.
Register for the appropriate First Time Referee Course.
Complete the required online assignments
Cost: $50
Note: If you are 18+ years old, you must also complete the NCSI Background Screening (~$30).
Attend the in-person field training session listed in your First-Time Referee Course description.
