Steps to Become a Referee in West Virginia
Step 1: Create a profile in the U.S. Soccer Learning Center
Click here to create your U.S. Soccer Learning Center profile.
All Learning Center profiles will require a unique primary email address.
Sign up using the referee’s name and birthdate.
Secondary email addresses (i.e. Parent's) may be required on the profile.
Note: Referees must be at least 13 years old to register.
Step 2: Complete the free Online Referee Module
Note: Completion of this module does not issue a referee license. The In-Person Field Training Session (see step 3) is a requirement for all First Time Referees.
Go to the West Virginia Online Referee Module.
Complete all of the online course assignments.
Duration: the online course will take you approximately 5 total hours, which can be completed over multiple sessions. Your progress will be saved as you take the course.
Step 3: Complete the In-Person Field Training Session
Go to the Upcoming First Time Referee Courses List.
Select West Virginia State Referee Committee under Host.
Register for and attend the appropriate First Time Referee Course.
Cost: $50
Note: If you are 18+ years old, you must also complete the NCSI Background Screening (~$30).
