Lead Instructor: Kim OberleU.S. Soccer Federation National Referee Coach
Former FIFA Assistant Referee
Kim Oberle first became a referee in her local recreation league at the age of fourteen. Three years later she was first certified by the United States Soccer Federation, continuing on to work in the domestic men's and women's professional leagues from 1997 until 2007. Kim was chosen to represent the United States on the FIFA Panel of Assistant Referees in 2005, working over 25 international matches before she retired. Since there is no such thing as "retirement from soccer", she has since become a USSF National Referee Coach and Professional Referee Organization (PRO) referee coach for MLS, NWSL, NASL and USL Pro referees. She has also been a referee assessor for CONCACAF, serving at FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifiers in Guatemala and Grenada.
In the real world, Kim is manager of Outdoor Recreation and City Lakes operations for the City of Durham in North Carolina, where she spends a great deal of her time in boats or up in the air on a ropes course. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at North Carolina Central University where she has taught Outdoor Recreation for eight years.
