Jonathan Meersman began his career as a referee in 1988 and began instructing referees in 1994. He rose to serve as the Wisconsin State Director of Referee Instruction from 1999 to 2008, and since that time has served at the U.S. Soccer national level as a National Instructor, National Instructor Trainer, Education Resources Advisor and – since May 2014 – as a member of the U.S. Soccer Referee Committee. He also serves as the US Youth Soccer Region II (Midwest) Referee Administrator. Jonathan has participated in the FIFA Futuro III Course for Referee Instructors in 2014 and 2015. He will be inducted in the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame on March 12. Jonathan is also a Professor of Web Design and Development at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
FIFA Assistant Referee
Amanda Ross is a native of Rochester, New York, where her father, Tom Ross, serves as State Director of Referee Instruction for New York West. She began her referee career in 1997 as a Grade 8 referee, and has since that time climbed the ladder until ultimately earning a spot on the FIFA Panel as an Assistant Referee in 2014. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Syracuse University and currently resides in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she is an Assistant Professor in the West Virginia University College of Business & Economics.
