Pre-Clinic Work

  1. Visit

  2. If you have not already recertified as a referee for 2017 take the 2016-17 Recertification Quiz covering the 2016-17 changes to the IFAB LOTG
  3. Review and respond to the Pre-Clinic videos

9:15am - 10:00am -- Introduction to & USSF Philosophy of Assessing

10:00am - 10:10am -- Break

10:10am - 10:45am -- Game Data Recording (Note-taking)

10:45am - 11:45am -- Questioning Technique

11:45am - 1:00pm -- Lunch

1:00pm - 2:00pm -- Review of FIFA Considerations & USSF Points of Emphasis (POE)

2:00pm - 2:10pm -- Break

2:10pm - 4:00pm -- Debrief Role-Playing (with breaks as needed)

4:00pm -- 4:45pm -- Grading and Post-Game Write-Up

4:45pm - 5:00pm -- Conclusion & Next Steps

Post-Clinic Work

  1. Register for 2017 as a USSF Grade 7 Assessor with the WV Soccer Association (no registration fee for 2017)
  2. 2016-17 U.S. Soccer Federation Grade 7 Assessor Exam (use clinic code JAN21) (minimum passing score = 80%)
  3. Successfully conduct and document two (2) assessments, including debriefs and write-ups in, in conjunction with:
    • A WVSA State Assessor
    • Or, with prior approval of your state association's State Director of Assessment (SDA):
      • A State Assessor from another state association; or
      • A National Referee Coach; or
      • Some other designee
