WVSA Selects 2018 Young Referees of the Year

The WV Soccer Association has selected the 2018 Young Referees of the Year:

  • Female:  Bree Moll (Webster Springs)
  • Male:  Austin Perdue (Charleston)
Moll is a Grade 8 Referee in her third year as an official.  She has worked state level events, including the WVSA Open Cup, and has served on WV referee delegations to US Youth Soccer Eastern Region competitions, including the 2018 Presidents Cup in Barboursville, West Virginia, and the 2018 National Championship Series tournament in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  She earned finals assignments at both events.  She actively seeks to improve her skills as a match official by attending clinics provided by USSF National Referee Coaches, such as the WV State Referee Program Workshop.  She also serves as an inspirational mentor to new, young referees.


Perdue is a Grade 8 Referee in his fourth year as an official.  He has worked state level events, including the WVSA Kohl's Cup, the WVSA Open Cup, and the WVSA State Championships (State Cup).  He has served on WV referee delegations to US Youth Soccer Eastern Region competitions for several years, including the Presidents Cup, the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Tournament, and the National Championship Series tournament and has earned finals assignments at several of these events.  He will graduate from Sissonville High School where he has been in the National Honor Society, the International Club, the Foreign Language Club, and has served as the president of MU Alpha Theta.  He will graduate from Sissonville 
this spring and has recently been accepted at West Virginia University in Morgantown, where he plans to continue working as a match official.




Both Moll and Perdue will be considered as candidates for the 2018 US Youth Soccer Eastern Region Young Referees of the Year.
