Ashley Keefover of Fairmont, WV, and Junior Noss of Kingwood have been selected as the 2016 WVSA Young Female and Male Referees of the Year, respectively.

Ms. Keefover is a Grade 8 Referee with four years of experience.  She has worked matches in her local Marion County league as well as several tournaments within West Virginia during her years as a referee, including the WVSA State Championship (an NCS qualifying event).  This year she was selected as a member of the state’s referee delegations to both the 2016 Region 1 President’s Cup and the ODP Tournament.  She is a repeat honoree as the state’s Young Female Referee of the Year, having won the distinction in 2015 as well.

Mr. Noss is a Grade 8 Referee with four years of experience.  He comes from a family of referees in the northern part of our state, and he has nurtured that immersion into a promising referee career.  He has served the game at a wide variety of levels, from local youth matches in Preston County to state level tournaments such as the WVSA Kohl’s Cup and Open Cup.

Both winners will be honored during a special awards presentation on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the WVSA Hall Of Fame Awards Dinner at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Charleston, and their nominations will be forwarded for consideration as the 2016 Region 1 Young Referees of the Year.
